The woman was taken from the water park to a nearby hospital. While at the hospital, she was treated for a blood clot in her brain. The clot is thought to have been from hitting her head on the hospital slide.

Later that night, the woman was pronounced dead. The medical examiner ruled the death as an accidental blunt force trauma to the head. It is not known which slides she rode at the water park.

The woman had to be extracted from her 1990 Honda after hitting a tree on New Dam Road. Following the extraction, the woman was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment.
