A Texas woman has filed a lawsuit against Ford Motor Co., saying that defects in its vehicles caused her to suffer debilitating injuries in an October 2007 collision.

Yowaundez W. Williams’ product liability lawsuit against Ford alleges that the company’s Ford Focus vehicle was “unreasonably dangerous” and lacked several important safety features. Williams claimed that the vehicle failed to protect her during the collision. She is seeking compensation for medical bills, disfigurement, impairment, emotional and mental distress, pain and suffering, and reduced capacity to enjoy life.
