The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an accident that occurred today in which a man died. They have not yet released any names.

According to initial investigation reports, the man was driving a 2007 Ford Taurus in the northbound lanes. The driver attempted to pass 2 semi-trailers in the left-hand shoulder and lost control of his vehicle. The car then rolled and landed in the northbound lanes and was hit by a Jeep.

Witnesses said the car was travelling at a high speed with emergency flashers on prior to attempting to pass the trailers. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
